medical massage

Medical massage employs a relaxed hand technique referred to as the "soft hand". This allows deep tissue penetration without causing discomfort or exacerbating the patient's condition. This system of massage therapy recognizes that the joint complex and soft tissue structures, especially ligaments, are the primary sites of chronic pain and dysfunction. More Info »

Medical massage is applied as manual therapy to the specific area and the primary pathology of the patient's chief complaint. It is delivered to an anatomical region based on soft tissue and joint findings after diagnostic palpation. It involves several progressive stages of treatment which attempt to correct abnormal conditions affecting the joint complex.

In addition, therapeutic exercise, physio-therapeutic modalities and patient education are combined within a treatment plan that identifies the appropriate regularity and duration of a therapy program. Massage and manual therapy are not simply techniques; they are a combination of education, training, experience, humility, dedication and intuition, expresses through the miraculous human hand.
